On April 4, 2020, Jinsha No. 1 Middle School held an event of mourning at half-mast during the Qingming Festival to express deep condolences to the martyrs and deceased compatriots who died in the fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
The activity was presided over by Li Changsheng, member of the Party branch of Jinsha County No. 1 Middle School and director of the Academic Affairs Office. The relevant administrative duty personnel of Jinsha County No. 1 Middle School and some resident students of the third grade participated in the event.
At 10:00, the air defense siren sounded and the flag was lowered to half-staff. The teachers and students at the scene stood in silence for three minutes to pay tribute to the sacrificed martyrs and mourn the deceased compatriots.
At the end of the silence, Mr. Meng Tianrong, a member of the First Party Branch, delivered a speech under the national flag. Teacher Meng pointed out that we cherish our ancestors, pay tribute to the martyrs, mourn the deceased, and thank the heroes; we remember the pain, protect the history, cherish the present, look forward to tomorrow, and regroup and set off again!
When air raid sirens go off and tears flow from faces facing half-staff, the dead will rest in peace, and in our deepest condolences and remembrances, we will gather the strength to keep going.
